The Apple company is preparing a secret novelty: its release date and main functions are already known

Apple is preparing a surprise for lovers of “apple” products. According to Bloomberg sources, the Cupertino corporation is developing a new version of everyone's favorite gadget.

Columnist and authoritative insider Mark Gurman reported that this is the second generation of AirTag geotags, which allow you to determine geolocation. According to him, the new smart tag is already “going through production testing.”

The first AirTag was released in 2021. They are a small label that can be attached to any thing – for example, to keys or a backpack – to track their whereabouts in case of loss. The device is also used to determine the location of family members or friends. Top Apple executives believe that the current AirTag has few competitors, while having enough features.

Gourman says that AirTag 2 will be equipped with an updated U2 chip that will show the location more accurately. The company has already used it in the iPhone 15, Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2. In addition, the insider says, the gadget will be better integrated into the Apple ecosystem by the time of its release. In particular, the novelty will receive a certain integration with the Vision Pro headset.

The design of AirTag 2 will remain the same. Initially, the company wanted to present the sequel by the end of 2024. New goal – mid-2025.

All the devices that Apple will show in early 2025
