“Software updates ensure Puma can continue to perform critical missions autonomously and safely, reducing reliance on GPS and increasing survivability in hostile areas,– says the company's message.

Here are four main updates that the company talks about:

  • support for advanced navigation and synchronization capabilities in conditions of problems with GNSS access
  • enhanced capabilities using the VNS system
  • improved safety of radio communication in difficult conditions
  • increase by 60% of the payload of the drone and accordingly increase in payload.

It is noted that the new updates will allow “to maintain an operational advantage even when adversaries try to disrupt the operation of critical systems, ensuring higher mission success and survivability”.

< p>Most importantly, AeroVironment says the updates will be available for all new Puma systems and all deployed systems will receive them. Updates do not require hardware modifications.
