After the completion of technical studies, an agreement is expected to be concluded between Turkey and the Eurofighter consortium, which includes Germany, Great Britain, Spain and Italy.

Germany, unlike the UK, Spain and Italy, has reportedly opposed the sale for a long time.

Berlin gave the first green light to the process just a few days before the visit of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul last month. In this context, technical negotiations were held with Turkey under the leadership of Great Britain regarding the sale of the Eurofighter. These talks, to which Germany did not object, discussed which aircraft would be purchased, how and how often they would be maintained, if purchased, and how pilots would be trained.
