Germany must strengthen its defenses if the U.S. “wants to pay less attention to Europe,” Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said on Thursday, November 14, adding that the “debt brake” mechanism would need to be lifted to attract the necessary funds. Pistorius also said that "the minority government in Berlin will do everything possible to ensure that parliament approves defense projects that have not yet been implemented before the elections scheduled for February", and that he "discussed the issue with the German finance minister".
