Gilda West wants to get another tattoo for her 100th birthday/Daily Star
Gilda West from Great Britain got her first tattoo at the age of 94. And since then she has not been able to stop.
The woman already has three tattoos on her body and is preparing for the fourth one, which she wants to make for her 100th birthday. The choice of a brave grandmother did not leave her loved ones indifferent, especially her daughter, who initially was against such a passion. Gilda's story is told by the Daily Star.
Gilda got her first tattoo on her wrist, choosing the initials of her late husband Ernest and son David. She hid this act from her family for a long time, but she dared to get a new tattoo – a butterfly on her shoulder, which became a symbol of her inner freedom.

Hilda has a daughter, Barbara Denton, now 75 years old, as well as four grandchildren and as many great-grandchildren. Barbara, learning about her mother's first tattoo, was skeptical at first. She said her mother secretly made it while she was on holiday in Spain, only to discover it weeks later. However, today Barbara supports her mother's decision.

I didn't notice until a few weeks later when she took the cardigan off… But now I'm resigned to the fact that if that's what she really wants to do for her 100th birthday then I have no problem with it if it makes her happy,
– she says.
Gilda plans to add a peacock to her tattoo collection to celebrate her 100th birthday. She has the support of not only her family but also the staff at the nursing home where she lives. The head of the nursing home said the staff will fund Gilda's new tattoo by organizing a sponsored walk to raise funds. According to her, Gilda is “a real gem, extremely sociable and cheerful.”

The initiator of the tattoo was a healthy lifestyle coach who encouraged Gilda to take this bold step. Together with him, she went on a day trip to Coventry to get her first tattoo. Now her story inspires many – even at 99 years old, you can allow yourself to fulfill your wildest dreams.
