Former US Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe will lead the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) under new President Donald Trump.
This is stated in a statement by the Trump transition administration.
— I am pleased to announce that former Director of National Intelligence John Radcliffe will serve as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Radcliffe has always been a champion of truth and honesty with the American public, the report says.

Ratcliffe's confirmation would make him the most influential voice on intelligence matters. The CIA director nominally reports to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. But the CIA director, who has the authority to appoint senior spies stationed overseas and conduct covert operations, likely has more influence, and Donald Trump has long viewed the CIA's work as more important.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner, a Republican from Ohio, has already congratulated John Ratcliffe. According to Turner, Ratcliffe will help counter serious threats from China, Russia, Iran and North Korea.
