According to the Indian Bureau of Certification (BIS), the smartphone with the model number SM-G766B should be equipped with a removable battery, which will retain the useful function of the predecessors of the series. Given that the XCover7 was the SM-G556B, and the XCover6 Pro — SM-G736B, the new model number logically points to the XCover8 Pro.

Samsung's robust mid-range lineup debuted in India with the Galaxy XCover 7 in February this year. Now, the South Korean brand is expected to announce a successor to the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro, which is set to launch in 2022, but not in the country.

This will also expand the XCover lineup. The battery of the next-gen Galaxy XCover 8 Pro has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification site.

This hints at the possible appearance of the device on the market in the near future. To recall, the XCover 7 was launched in India after its debut in global markets.

Samsung Galaxy XCover 8 Pro will receive updates and improvements compared to the XCover 6 Pro. The XCover line of the South Korean brand is already known for its durability and military-grade certificates. The exact characteristics of the next-generation device remain a secret for now.
