It is not just a refusal of certain foods – it is a path to inner balance, an opportunity to focus on deeper values and strengthen the connection with God, emphasizes Radio MAXIMUM!
The tradition of Christmas Lent has deep roots, and for many believers it is an important step towards self-improvement, since each day of fasting becomes a step towards spiritual renewal.
Observance of fasting involves certain restrictions in food – removal of meat, dairy products and excesses, which emphasizes willpower and discipline. However, this period is rich in a variety of lean dishes that can become not only useful, but also really tasty. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the menu for each day of the Christmas fast, which will help you go through this path with ease, maintaining a balance between spiritual and physical harmony. The first week of Christmas Lent:
Friday, November 15 – dry food;
Saturday, November 16 – hot food with oil, fish, wine;
Sunday, November 17 – hot food with oil, fish, wine.
Length red bean soup
Ingredients:
- 200 grams of red beans,
- 1 carrot,
- 2 onions,
- 2 stalks of celery,
- 1 feather of leek,
- 1 clove of garlic,
- 1 bunch of parsley,

- 1 liter of water,
- salt and pepper to taste

Preparation of lean soup with beans:
- Soak the beans in water for 12 hours, rinse
- Pour beans with water and bring to a boil
- Add spices, half of an onion, a stalk of celery to the beans and cook for about an hour until soft.
- Cut the onion and celery finely, grate the carrot, chop the garlic and greens.
- In hot oil fry chopped onions, celery, carrots and garlic.
- Add the fried vegetables to the beans, add salt to taste and cook another 10 minutes.
- At the end, add leeks and parsley.
- You can serve lean soup with croutons or crackers.

Lean baked potatoes with beets
Ingredients:
- potatoes – 4 – 5 large pieces
- beets – 2 pieces
- oil – 5 – 6 tablespoons
- salt, pepper and basil – to taste

Preparation of lean baked potatoes with beets:
- Cut the washed and peeled potatoes into oblong pieces, and cut the beets in the same way. It is important that the pieces are of medium thickness, so that they are well baked, but not burnt.
- Meanwhile, heat the oven to 210 degrees.
- Grease a baking sheet covered with parchment well with oil, then spread it in an even layer on put potatoes on one side, and beets on the other.
- Sprinkle evenly with salt, pepper and basil.
- Then you should pour a little more oil, mix everything and put it to bake for 20 minutes.

Lean pasta with mushrooms
Ingredients:
- durum wheat pasta – 250 grams
- onion – 1 piece
- garlic – 2 cloves
- champignons – 300 grams
- tomato puree or juice – 1 cup
- oil – 3 – 4 tablespoons
- salt, pepper and basil – to taste

Preparing lean pasta with mushrooms:
- Chop the onion and garlic, fry a little in oil and add the pre-chopped mushrooms.
- Pour the tomato puree or juice into the mushrooms, simmer for 5 minutes over high heat until the puree boils. Then leave on low heat for a few more minutes.
- Add a spoonful of oil to the boiling salted water, this is what the Italians do so that the pasta does not stick together. Then add the pasta.
- When cooked, drain the water using a colander. And immediately add them to the ingredients cooked in the pan.
- You can hold the whole dish on low heat for a few minutes, then serve and enjoy.
