The Oscar-winning Ukrainian documentary film “20 Days in Mariupol” received two awards at the Grierson Awards: The British Documentary Awards.

The film won in the nominations for best documentary on current events and best cinematographic documentary. This is stated on the award website.

The awards are presented by the charity The Grierson Trust – it recognizes “innovative and exciting documentaries” in honor of Scottish documentarian John Grierson.

This year's shortlist highlights the power of documentaries to tell stories that stand out from the sea of ​​content constantly vying for our attention. These films really capture the attention of audiences, revealing characters and perspectives not seen before, said Lorraine Heggesy, chair of the Grierson Trust, which organizes the Grierson Awards.
