Kyiv native Yevgeny Vindman wins election to US House of Representatives

Kiev native and Democrat Yevgeny Vindman has won the race for a seat in the US House of Representatives from Virginia, the Voice of America reports.

According to media reports, the Republican Party invested heavily in getting a seat for its representative, but failed to win it.

Yevgeny Vindman, a Kyiv native, Democrat and political newcomer, won a seat in the US House of Representatives from Virginia.

In The Guardian noted that this victory in Virginia will be key for the Democrats, who are seeking to restore the majority in the House of Representatives.

As is known, Evgeny Vindman fought for this seat with the Republican representative Derrick Anderson in the seventh district of Virginia.

At the same time, Evgeny Vindman will replace Democrat Abigail Spanberger in the House of Representatives, who decided to run for governor.

The vote in the House of Representatives took place along with the elections for the US president and the Senate.

The results of the elections to the House of Representatives are not yet final. Preliminary, the Republicans can get a majority in the Senate, because they will have at least 52 mandates.
