The leader of the country's pro-European political forces, Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who is in confrontation with the ruling Georgian Dream, in her congratulations emphasized Georgia's European future and expressed hope for continued US support on a number of issues of crucial importance for Georgia's statehood.

“Congratulations on your election victory, Mr. President Donald Trump. A strong US is our 33-year-old strategic partner and friend.” “We need these measures now more than ever to support Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration, strengthen regional security and stability, and protect our freedom and independence,” the Georgian president wrote on the social network “X,” Voice of America reports.

At the same time, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, congratulating Donald Trump, repeated the pre-election thesis of the “Georgian Dream” that after the change of Administration in the White House, Georgia's relations with the United States, which have reached their lowest point during the years of the current government, will allegedly “reset.”

“I congratulate President Donald Trump on his decisive victory in the elections. I am confident that President Trump's leadership will promote peace throughout the world and in our region, and will also ensure the resumption of US-Georgia relations,” the Georgian Prime Minister wrote in “X”.

BAGNET recalls that the anti-Western orientation of the ruling party “Georgian Dream” has led to an acute crisis in relations with Western partners. As a result, the United States announced a review of relations with Georgia and the introduction of visa restrictions against thirty Georgian officials.
