>> A paid subscription to Apple Intelligence may appear in iOS 18.2/CNET
Just the other day, iOS 18.1 was released, and with it – the ability to use AI from Apple. True, this applies only to some countries. And in a month we will be shown an updated version of the system with one curiosity.
The MacRumors resource noticed an unusual feature in the second beta version of iOS 18.2 for developers. It indicates that Apple may allow users to upgrade to a paid ChatGPT plan as part of Apple Intelligence.
While Siri doesn't need to use ChatGPT for all of its tasks, some users are happy to use the integration for power consumption tasks and the like.
200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000In the image above you can see that under advanced features there is a daily limit section that shows “under limit”. This means that users can use ChatGPT's latest advanced features only a few times a day.
This is confirmed by the fact that free access to ChatGPT-4o on any platform is limited and resets every 24 hours. If you've reached your daily limit, Siri will switch to the free version of ChatGPT, which has fewer advanced tools. For example, DALL-E 3 images are limited to two per day.
If you click the “upgrade to ChatGPT Plus” button, you will be redirected to the subscription purchase screen. ChatGPT Plus costs $20 per month. So while Apple itself isn't implementing a subscription model, it looks like you'll have to pay for unlimited premium access to ChatGPT.
Earlier, reporters also covered Apple's Find Me update. Like this new integration with ChatGPT, it's part of the iOS 18.2 developer beta. Both features should launch in the final version of iOS 18.2, which is rumored to be released in early December.
