A bus fell into a deep gorge in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, killing at least 36 people. This was reported by Al Jazeera.
The accident occurred on November 4 in Marchula area of Almora district in the Indian Himalayas, according to state Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Senior government official Vineet Pal added that some of the injured were airlifted for specialized treatment.
Preliminary investigations have shown that the bus skidded before it fell into a 60-meter-deep ravine. Some passengers managed to escape, were thrown out of the bus by the impact, and later informed authorities about the accident.
