A company – developer of military engines for hypersonic weapons has gone bankrupt in Great Britain

In Great Britain, the company Reaction Engines, which specializes in the development of military engines for hypersonic weapons, has declared bankruptcy. This was reported by The Register.

The company actively worked on innovative solutions for American and British projects in the field of hypersonic weapons, in particular, it developed the SABER rocket engine.

In addition, it manufactured individual components for engines used in hypersonic weapon prototypes. The company's liquidation came after its efforts to find a financial backer to raise approximately £20 million (US$26 million) in additional funding proved unsuccessful.

In addition to financing military projects, the company was also involved in the development of SABER engine technology for supported by the UK Space Agency. However, the U.S. hypersonic weapons development situation is facing new challenges due to the failed test of the AGM-183 missile in March 2023.

Funding for the ARRW program is currently suspended until 2025, during which time the U.S. Air Force and key developers missiles have to make decisions about new investments in this program and its further development.

Representatives of the US Air Force reported that the missile tests helped to change the perception of hypersonic weapons and to use technical developments in the new Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile project.< /p>
