Snow falls in Saudi Arabian desert for first time, says media

Snow has fallen in northern Saudi Arabia for the first time in history.

According to the Khaleej Times, heavy snowfall has occurred in the northern region of Al-Jawf.

According to the Saudi Agency, heavy rains accompanied by large amounts of hail have swept across parts of the Al-Jawf region in the Kingdom since last Wednesday.

— Just yesterday, snowfall covered the mountainous regions, creating an impressive winter picture, — writes the publication.

Forecasters warn that heavy rains and hail are expected in the region in the coming days, which could impair visibility on the roads.

These storms are also likely to be accompanied by strong winds.
