Russia transfers ships to base in Abkhazia. At the same time, the port of Ochamchira in unrecognized Abkhazia, despite statements about receiving RF ships, is not capable of receiving large combat units. This was reported by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk.

According to Pletenchuk, this port can only accept small units, in particular those that are part of the Russian FSB Coast Guard.

He explained that the Abkhazian harbor is small, it is difficult to maneuver there and it does not have the capacity to accept a large number of ships. At the same time, small Russian missile boats were seen there, in particular a Karakurt-class ship.

“This was a one-time action – came in and left… The Russians have not started using this port as a basing point and are unlikely to do so. Therefore, Novorossiysk remains. No attempts to complete construction have been recorded there. The only thing they continue to do is “hide behind boom barriers, observation posts,” Pletenchuk noted.
