5G in Ukraine: Fedorov spoke about the launch of the pilot project

5G is capable of transferring data 10 times faster than 4G.

The government adopted changes to the resolution about the use of radio frequencies and in three cities of Ukraine launches testing of the 5G network.

The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced this.

This creates new opportunities for exchanging large volumes of information at ultra-high speeds.

“The pilot will last 2 years and will take place in two stages. During the tests, NKEK and the Ukrainian State Radio Frequency Center will check whether 5G equipment does not affect the operation of military networks”, – the message says.

According to the plan, the full launch of 5G in Ukraine will take place by 2030.

Also, the new resolution allows operators to use the 2100 MHz frequency not only for 3G, but also for 2G or 4G, and the released frequencies of 694–862 MHz from television are planned to be released for mobile communication.
