Poland strengthens its border with Russia

Poland has begun construction of defensive fortifications on the border with Russia, the project is planned to be completed by 2028.

“The construction of the “Eastern Shield” has begun. The first work is near the border with Russia,” Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in X.

Poland has announced the allocation of 10 billion zlotys (about €2.3 billion) to strengthen its northern and eastern borders as part of the “Eastern Shield” security program. It is known that within its borders, it is planned to strengthen 400 km of the border with Russia and Belarus. The project covers many areas. These are electronic and technical barriers, as well as special engineering structures.

In addition, the Baltic countries, as well as British and American troops, have joined in the construction of defensive fortifications.
