German Defense Minister: Russian hybrid attacks in the Baltic Sea are recorded daily

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius warned that the threat of Russian hybrid attacks against Western countries in the Baltic Sea remains constant.

As reported by “European Pravda”, the German minister's statement is cited by AFP.

Commenting on the Russian hybrid actions in the Baltic Sea, Pistorius said: “It happens every day.”

He criticized the fact that “there are people in Germany who still do not want to accept this.”

Therefore, the head of the German defense ministry welcomes the fact that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte wants to further strengthen the Alliance's presence in the Baltic Sea region.

“This is a clear signal: we will not tolerate sabotage and destruction in the North Atlantic Alliance and will take joint and decisive action against this,” – emphasized Pistorius.

As a reminder, the Estlink 2 high-voltage submarine line received mechanical damage on the afternoon of December 25. The main version is that it was damaged by the anchor of the tanker Eagle S, which is considered part of Russia's “shadow fleet”. It will take about six months to repair the power line.

Other incidents with cables have also been reported.
