A zero-day vulnerability was discovered in Samsung's processors

In the company's processors Samsung discovered a zero-day vulnerability

Google security experts Xin Jin and Clement Lesijen discovered a zero-day vulnerability in Exynos processors that could be used by hackers.

Exynos 9820, 9825, 980 , 990, 850 and W920, in which the problem was detected, — Samsung's own products. A breach in platform security allowed remote code execution on Samsung smartphones. As noted by The Register, the discovered vulnerability is related to the management of the phone's memory.

The vulnerability was given the identifier CVE-2024-44068, and at the time of discovery there were no patches for the problematic code. But it is reported that a patch has now been released.

"Samsung is committed to providing the highest level of security for our users. We are aware of the mentioned potential security vulnerability. We recommend that users install the latest software updates on their devices, – Samsung reported.
