Details about the processor in the upcoming Google Pixel 11 smartphones have become known

The company Google only a few months ago released a line of smartphones Pixel 9 on its Tensor G4 processor. The Pixel 10's Tensor G5 processor is said to be a major upgrade next year. The codenames of this chip and even the Tensor G6 have already been named.

What else is known about the Google Pixel 11

The codenames Laguna and Malibu have been spotted in the updated Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code. Not much other information. The name Laguna has already appeared in previous leaks about the Tensor G5. This chip is expected to be the first Tensor processor manufactured at TSMC factories.

All previous Tensor chips were produced at the Samsung Foundry, which is inferior in terms of technical processes. This shows up in throttling and overheating issues with chips made by Samsung in recent years. This was the case with the first two generations of Tensor and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processors. The switch to TSMC should theoretically give the Tensor processors improved performance and reduced heating.

This isn't the first time information has surfaced about the processor in the Pixel 11. Business Korea reported in September that Google is working with TSMC to build the Tensor G6 on a 2nm process.
