In the fall of 2025, Apple will traditionally release four smartphones. Judging by the latest rumors, the premiere of the iPhone 17 Plus will not take place – another device will take its place. In fact, it will be the same initial model, but with an important difference, writes 9to5Mac.

iPhone 17 Air/Slim – this will be the name of Apple's new thin smartphone equipped with a 6.6-inch screen. This will be a model for those who are satisfied with the performance and characteristics of the iPhone 17, but want something new in terms of design.

The slim version will come with 8 GB of RAM, an A19 chip, a titanium-aluminum alloy frame and one rear camera with a resolution of 48 MP. While the “pros” will get a more powerful A19 Pro processor and 12 GB of RAM, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be the first model with three 48-MP cameras.

The last time Apple introduced a completely new iPhone design was in 2017 with the release of the iPhone X. Then it was a frameless design with Face ID instead of Touch ID and many other innovations. Sources believe this will be the first truly new iPhone model in years.

How much such an iPhone will cost is still unclear. We previously heard that the iPhone 17 Air will be even more expensive than the 17 Pro Max. At the same time, the well-known Apple insider John Prossera is sure that the price of the gadget will start at $899, just like the iPhone 16 Plus.
