Why constantly recharging your smartphone reduces battery life

Why constant recharging your smartphone shortens the battery life

A popular portal warns that frequent short-term charging of a smartphone can shorten its battery life. Lithium-ion batteries have a limited number of charge cycles, and each recharge, even a short one, reduces this resource.

Why it is harmful to do it

In addition, frequent temperature changes during charging can lead to to overheating of the battery and reducing its capacity, which accelerates the discharge of the device. Also, frequent short-term charging can disrupt the battery calibration, due to which the smartphone can incorrectly display the charge level.

Experts recommend charging the smartphone less often, but until it is fully charged. This will help preserve battery capacity for many years and avoid premature battery replacement.
