The news broadcasts are making a series of blunders about pop culture
Indeed, remember, two weeks ago, M6 received an impressive number of comments, remarks and mockery following a report devoted to the world of manga. The channel wanted to take an interest in the way manga were produced and published in Japan and by addressing the fortunes generated by the most famous Japanese mangakas, the editorial staff made a mistake. To represent Eiichiro Oda the creator of One Piece, the authors of the subject had taken a photo of Eiji Aonuma, one of the creators of the series The Legend of Zelda. It didn't take long for Internet users to rush to mock the M6 news.
A Superman trailer that smells like a fake
This weekend, another blunder but this time in the 8pm news on France 2 presented by Laurent Delahousse. This Saturday, October 19, the channel's editorial team decides to focus on Superman. It must be said that this superhero has been the talk of the town lately. Firstly because a documentary called Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story was released in cinemas on 9 October.
Directed by Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui, this documentary film looks back at the career of the actor who played the Man of Steel in four films between 1978 and 1987. The cult actor who played Superman became quadriplegic following a horse-riding accident. The poignant documentary tells the story of his return to life and his fight to help people with disabilities.
Finally, if the superhero from Krypton is causing a stir, it is also because James Gunn, who came to head DC Studios to overhaul the DCEU, will direct a new film simply called Superman.
In the France 2 report, the journalists therefore discussed this future production in which David Corenswet will succeed Henry Cavill. To illustrate the report, images from James Gunn's film were used. Of course, the journalists gave credit for the images coming from said production except that… this is not the case!
