iPhone 16 Pro error causes the smartphone to randomly freeze and restart

iPhone 16 Pro bug causes random freezes and reboots of the smartphone

iPhone 16 Pro users are complaining about a new strange device bug – it randomly freezes and reboots. This is written by MacRumors.

What else is known

According to the source, the problem affected only the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models, since there have been no complaints from the owners of the basic models. People write that in normal mode of use, the smartphone display at some random moment begins to react to touches with a long delay, or stops recognizing them altogether, after which the device restarts. There have also been reports of the iPhone restarting in standby mode, just lying on a table or in a pocket.

Complaints about this bug have been appearing since the release of the iPhone 16, but now their number has started to increase. iOS 18.0.1 update and even iOS 18.1 beta doesn't solve the problem. Some users managed to exchange the device for a new one from “officials”, but most are just waiting for a fix from Apple. In some cases, the number of failures exceeds 10-20 times a day. Individual owners note that reinstalling iOS and turning off iCloud helped them, so the problem may lie in the iCloud algorithms in iOS 18.
