34-year-old Christopher Patrick Laney in between December 2022 and January 2023, allegedly used an unregistered drone to deliver fentanyl and other drugs from his home to a nearby church parking lot, where another person received the package and distributed it to customers, including a woman who died of a fatal overdose in January 2023.

Drone video showed Laney using it at least three more times to distribute drugs.

Laney also kept an AR-15 and two 9mm at his home semi-automatic pistols, federal prosecutors said. The firearms did not have serial numbers, making them difficult to trace.

If convicted on all charges, Laney faces 25 years to life in prison.
