Disney+: price increase, what changes for French customers

But how far will streaming platforms go? Every month, they offer new features. But be careful, we are not talking about new features in terms of content. No, whether it is Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+, these are features that appear or, conversely, disappear and there is also the question of prices which are constantly changing, if not increasing. This new decision by Mickey's streaming platform risks annoying French customers.

After ending account sharing, Disney makes unpopular decision

Disney+ has followed Netflix in recently deciding to stop the ability for users to share their accounts with people who are not in the same household as the owner of the subscription. On the other hand, it is possible to enjoy the platform's catalog without paying a subscription. The platform offers an option that allows you to share the Disney+ account that is billed, obviously.

Today, it is clear that Disney is trying to find ways to make it profitable. Because we learn that the firm has made a decision that will make French subscribers grind their teeth. Indeed, the platform's subscription rates will increase in our countries. Of course, This increase in the price of packages also concerns all European countries. And it's not really a surprise since this summer, it was American subscribers who paid the price.

Increases of 1 to 2 euros per month on Disney+

Disney+ has announced that it is raising its prices for all subscribers less than 24 hours after we learned of an increase in the price of options for Canal+ subscribers. Please note that the increase does not concern the Disney+ Standard offer with advertising billed at 5.99 euros per month. Its price remains unchanged. It is impossible to charge more because Netflix's entry-level offer is at this price.

On the other hand, Disney increases the Standard package without advertising by one euro, increasing it from 8.99 euros to 9.99 euros per month. For the Premium package it's even worse because it's an increase of 2 euros! As a result, to enjoy the platform's catalog in UHD, HDR and Dolby Atmos, you will now have to pay 13.99 euros each month. Finally, annual subscriptions will also increase, increasing to 99.90 euros and 139.90 euros. These increases will only be effective on the next bill, even for subscribers to the year.

Note that Disney+ has decided to leave the offers proposed by Canal+ from December 31. Thus, to continue watching the content of the platform's catalog, you will have to take an option or subscribe by going directly to Disney+.
