The US first declassified the Phoenix Ghost drones in service with the Armed Forces

This week, the North American company AEVEX Aerospace officially confirmed that the name Phoenix Ghost is used to denote a whole family of drones of various types. The Armed Forces received the first batch of such aircraft in 2022. All this time they were classified.

The Armed Forces use Dominator and Disruptor aircraft on the battlefield. The presentation of the Disruptor drone took place this week. Both UAVs belong to the Group 3 category. This means that they weigh between 25 and 600 kg, travel in space at a speed of 185-460 km and have an effective ceiling of 1,000-5,500 m.

Disruptor tubular fuselage carbon fiber is also produced. The drone has a V-shaped tail and two straight wings with a span of 4.8 m. It weighs 84 kg. A catapult or rocket booster is used to launch the drone. In the latter case, the weight of the UAV increases to 93 kg.

The drone can stay in the air for up to 4.5 hours. Its flight range is 600 km. It carries on board a warhead weighing 22.5 kg.
