At the beginning of October, the second part of the movie “Joker” was released worldwide. Despite the success of the film in 2019, this year the premiere did not achieve the expected results.

No movie adaptation of the comics showed a similar result. This is reported by Deadline.

The film, created by director Todd Phillips and released by Warner Bros., collected only $7.055 million in its second weekend, which is the biggest box office drop for a movie about a character from the DC universe.

James Gunn and Peter Safran from the DC studio did not participate in the creation and management of the Joker: Madness for Two project. Joker 2 was expected to underperform Captain Marvel 2, which saw a 78% drop in box office receipts.
