Senior politicians from Britain's three largest parties have urged US President-elect Donald Trump to reconsider his relationship with Elon Musk, who has made a series of provocative statements about British politics.
In particular, on the social network X over the past week, Musk has published posts calling for the imprisonment of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, the release of right-wing activist Tommy Robinson from prison, and the replacement of Reform UK party leader Nigel Farage, a former ally and friend Trump.
At the same time, he launched a poll in X asking whether the US should “liberate the British people from a tyrannical government”.
According to the publication's sources, Starmer's Labour government, the Conservative opposition and Reform UK are considering how long the alliance between Musk and Trump will last. In discussions with Trump allies, some of them expressed the opinion that Musk's posts on social networks are damaging the new president's reputation even among his friends and supporters in the UK. In addition, some Trump allies have expressed concern about Musk's online activity regarding Britain.
A politician close to the Trump team said they were concerned that Musk had crossed the line and had concluded that he now posed a risk to the president-elect.
