Apple plans to release a new smart home device in 2025

Well-known journalist Mark Gurman talked about Apple's plans to expand in the field of smart home, starting in 2025.

The company plans to focus on three key areas:

  1. Integration of Apple Intelligence with an emphasis on Siri
  2. Development of the new homeOS platform based on tvOS
  3. Extending the compatibility of accessories thanks to the Matter standard

The company wants to create a powerful automation system with AI that provides precise control of devices, applications and multimedia. The basis of Apple Intelligence will be the new App Intents system, which will allow Siri to control functions within applications.

According to Gurman, a new smart display from Apple will appear in 2025. It will be an affordable iPad-like device that will allow you to watch content from Apple TV+, make FaceTime video calls, use the web browser and applications such as Calendar and Notes. It is expected to run on the A18 processor and be able to be used in different rooms of the house.

However, the smart screen will not replace the HomePod, but will be an addition to it. A more expensive product focused on high-quality music playback, video conferencing and home security is also expected in the future. The device will feature a rotating screen on a robotic arm and will likely cost around $1,000.
