Apple is preparing to refresh its lineup with the launch of the iPhone 17 Air, which is rumored to debut in 2025. Recent reports suggest that Novatek, a leading Taiwanese display IC manufacturer, could be a key supplier of this ultra-thin device thanks to its new OLED TDDI technology.

What else is known

According to a Digitimes article, Novatek plans to begin mass production of its OLED TDDI technology as early as the second quarter of 2025. While details about end customers remain shrouded in mystery for now, industry speculation strongly points to Apple.

This new OLED technology allows for thinner screens, making it a perfect fit for Apple's ambitions for the iPhone 17 Air.< /p>

Additional information about the iPhone 17 Air may appear in the coming months. Usually this happens after the release of the iPhone, the company prioritizes the next one, which leads to showers (not always true).
