Set LEGO with a vintage Batmobile/toysntat
A new LEGO Batmobile model was released this week. And it proved to be wildly popular.
The classic Batmobile, based on the 1966 Batman TV series, quickly sold out at major retailers, including Amazon and Target. Amazon has already restocked the 1,822-piece set, but orders placed on October 3 won't ship for a month or two, GameSpot reports.
It is the same story at the Lego Store, where the classic Batmobile is on pre-order for 60 days.
If you want to buy 1,822 parts for a holiday gift, you may not have enough time. On launch day, the Lego Store changed the status to “pre-order” with a delivery date later in October. On October 2nd, the delivery time has increased to 60 days, which means that Lego estimates that orders placed now will not be delivered before December.
The 1966 Batmobile is a more detailed build than some of the other smaller Lego Batmobiles. It's made up of 1,822 parts and measures 19″ long by 7″ wide.

Of course, you get a Batman minifigure sitting in the driver's seat, and he looks exactly like the Caped Crusader, portrayed by the legendary Adam West. His hood even has eyebrows drawn on it. Unfortunately, this kit does not include a can of bat and shark repellent.
The new set isn't the only incarnation of the Batmobile to get the Lego treatment – it's far from the only one. Although some Lego Batmobile sets have already been discontinued (for example, the Batcave Shadow Box set that comes with the Batmobile will soon be discontinued), some are still available at major retailers.
