If you play as Princess Zelda, the player wields Link at the very beginning of the game during his fight against Ganon. Later, the Princess of the kingdom of Hyrule will be able to use the Swordsman mode, after having recovered the legendary sword of the knight. But we learn however thanks to IGNthat it is possible to play as Link throughout the game. Speedrunner ZeldaMaster has just revealed the existence of a glitch that allows this, and explains how to do it. (Be careful, the glitch “breaks” the game a bit.)
First of all, it is necessary to make a manual save during the prologue with Link; then, do not save again until the opening of the open world and the exploration phase. Record the echo of the signpost and head towards the Eternal Forest.Just before the forest takes you back to the beginning, plant a sign. At the exact moment Zelda finishes reading the sign and begins to be transported, pause the game and open the save screen. Despite the save screen being displayed, Zelda should still be free to move. Let her die thanks to the monsters nearby. The menu appearing at the moment of her death and the Game Over appearing crashes the game and it is now possible, thanks to the manual save of the prologue, to make Link appear in the forest.
Of course, this glitch poses minor difficulties, since Link is not in possession of the Tri scepter and therefore cannot save the echoes. In other words, Link is not adapted to the gameplay and world design of the game. The fact remains that this bug will undoubtedly delight those most reluctant to the idea of playing as Princess Zelda.
