Lithuania acquired NASAMS systems on €234 million

Lithuania purchased additional NASAMS medium-range air defense systems worth 234 million euros.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was stated by the Minister of Defense of Lithuania Laurinas Kaschyunas, LRT reports.

«Air defense is a critical strength not only in Lithuania, but also throughout the Alliance», – noted Kaschyunas.

According to the head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense, the agreement on the purchase of NASAMS was signed on Thursday. He added that the increase in defense funding has made it possible to speed up the acquisition, which is scheduled for 2031.

In addition, this week Lithuania also signed a contract to acquire the RBS70 NG short-range air defense system (MSHORAD), the cost of which is about 130 million euros.
