The USA successfully tested a new small cruise missile

The North American company Leidos Dynetics has successfully tested a new small cruise missile “Black Arrow”. It is reported on its website.

During the tests, Leidos Dynetics specialists checked the safety of the rocket's transportation and its exit from the launch container. By the end of autumn, the new missile will be tested by the Special Operations Command of the US Air Force.

The missile was first tested for exit from the launch container last December. It was mounted on the ramp of an AC-130J aircraft. Development of a new cruise missile was launched by Leidos Dynetics in 2021.

Last summer, the Pentagon announced a competition to develop a cruise missile costing up to 150,000 USD, which would be easy to manufacture. Four companies took part in it, including Leidos Dynetics. The US Air Force needs a cruise missile that is as simple and cheap to manufacture as possible, created using available commercial technologies.
