A new Sony corporate report revealed that PlayStation's internal studios will use artificial intelligence and machine learning to speed up the development cycle of video games.
AI has already been applied to Marvel's Spider -Man 2. This is reported by Insider Gaming
The company said it “supports technologies that can help creators maximize the value of their intellectual property in efficient and high-quality ways, including sensing and capturing, as well as real-time 3D processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning,” and that these technologies will help deliver its intellectual property “quickly and at low cost to a wider range of fans”.
It is noted that PlayStation used machine learning in the creation of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 to recognize voices in certain languages. This process allowed the company to automatically synchronize subtitles with the lines of each character, which “significantly shortened the subtitling process.”
