The American technology startup will create an innovative radio-electronic intelligence system for the Armed Forces

The American company Zephr is developing a new radio-electronic intelligence system (EIR) for Ukraine. The system is designed to detect obstacles for satellite navigation, and is based on the mobile phone network. The innovative technology allows using mobile phones with special software as tools for radio-electronic intelligence, informs Militarny.

CEO of the company, Sean Gordman, explained that the phones can be integrated into various platforms, such as drones, cars or stationary stands . In the process of controlled experiments, it was checked whether mobile networks are capable of detecting facts of satellite navigation jamming, and the experiments confirmed this possibility.

Thanks to artificial intelligence, the system analyzes the data of navigation signals and signals of mobile networks. This allows not not only to detect jamming, but also to triangulate the location of sources of interference. And although this system will not replace professional military systems, it is a quick and cheap solution for deployment on the battlefield.
