Lithuania has already carried out the necessary preparatory work for the planned Rheinmetall artillery munitions plant, but “there is still work to be done”. which is quoted by LRT, “European Truth” reports.

According to her, some elements regarding the construction of the plant are confidential because they are related to commercial secrets.

“There are several things&nbsp ;– we want this project to be as useful as possible for Lithuania from the point of view of national security. There is still a lot of work ahead, and a lot depends on the company itself”, – the minister noted.

Armonaite said that work is ongoing with Rheinmetall on specific financing mechanisms.

In addition, negotiations are ongoing with Rheinmetall regarding the production of ammunition that meets Lithuania's needs.

“This is one of the key topics because the ammunition must be adapted to Lithuania's needs. I cannot comment in detail because it is confidential information,” – said the minister.
