Ukraine's defense forces actively use radio electronic warfare (EW) systems to protect against attacks by “Shahed” attack drones, which are used by the aggressor state of the Russian Federation . Expert Serhii Beskresnov (known as Flash) explained in his Telegram channel exactly how these systems affect enemy drones.

This causes the enemy drone to lose its orientation and miss its target. However, this still does not guarantee a successful repulse of the attack, since the drone can orient itself to the internal compass and resume flight to the target if it is outside the EW zone.
If the target is inside the EW zone, "Shaheed" ; may begin to circle, entering and exiting this zone. In this case, the drone will either lose fuel and fall, or will be shot down by air defense forces. However, the effectiveness of EW depends on the density of coverage of the area with jammers.
Serhii Flesh emphasized that it is difficult to cover the entire country with EW due to the high required density of jammers to combat the special satellite antennas of the Shaheds. However, this is an important area of defense against drone attacks.
