Poland's armed forces received new Homar-K multiple rocket launcher systems, thus strengthening the 16 mechanized division, as reported on their X account. Poland now has more than 22 of these missile systems and more units are being assembled at the Huta Stalowa Wola plant.
Initially, 212 units were ordered, but after the signing of the second performance contract in April this year, this number increased to 290. This contract provides for the purchase of 239 mm CGR-080 missiles with a range of 80 km, as well as CTM-290 short-range ballistic missiles capable of reach targets at a distance of up to 290 km. These acquisitions are accompanied by a package of logistics and training. It is also planned to integrate the Homar-K system with unguided missiles of 122 mm caliber, which are stored in transport-launch containers of the WZL-2 development. Some launchers can be mounted on the third generation Jelcz chassis presented at the last MSPO.
The Homar-K is a Polish adaptation of the K239 Chunmoo reactive artillery system. The original Doosan 8×8 truck chassis with armored cab was replaced with a locally produced Jelcz 8×8 chassis. Behind the crew compartment are two containers capable of carrying six 239 mm guided missiles with a range of 80 km or one ballistic missile with a range of about 290 km. Efforts are also underway to integrate this system with the 122 mm rockets used by systems such as the WR-40 Langusta and BM-21 Grad, as well as the 131/227 mm unguided rockets. Development of new missiles with a range of 150 to 200 km is also underway.

It weighs 31 tons, measures 9 meters long, 2.9 meters wide and 3.3 meters high, and is designed to handle a crew of three. Equipped with a 450 horsepower HD Hyundai Infracore DV11K diesel engine, it can reach a top speed of 80 km/h and has a range of 450 kilometers with a fuel volume of 250 liters. The transmission system provided by Allison Transmission increases its strength, allowing it to adapt to difficult terrain.
Homar-K can launch a wide range of conventional and ballistic missiles of various calibers. Its armament includes 131 mm, 230 mm, and 239 mm unguided missiles, as well as 400 mm guided missiles, which are currently under development. It is also capable of launching 600 mm CTM290 tactical ballistic missiles with a maximum range of 290 km. This weapon is controlled by a navigation system with GPS, which provides an accuracy of 15 meters for CGR080 missiles and 2 meters for CTM290 missiles.
The "Gomar-K" capable of firing six 239 mm missiles in 30 seconds with an effective range of 80 km. It also has the potential to integrate future weapon systems aimed beyond 200km for 400mm missiles. Advanced steel, ceramic and polymer composite armor, meeting STANAG 4569 level 2 protection standards, effectively protects the crew from ballistic threats and shrapnel.
Finally, the Homar-K is equipped with the Topaz automated fire control system, which allows the integration of its into the current fire control and battlefield control systems used by Polish artillery units. Also, the launcher is connected to the “Fonet” digital communication system. In the future, Homar-K can be mounted on a new chassis – truck Jelcz 883.5.
