Today's world does not allow us to lose any battle, when on one side there is freedom, and on the other side there are all the things that we would never wish for our children. We all need a win. And we all know why, – the president noted in the post.

The Golden Plate is an award of the American Academy of Achievement. It was first awarded in 1961. The award is given to people with “exceptional achievements in science, professions, business, industry, art, literature, sports, entertainment and public service”.

In his speech at the award ceremony, Zelensky emphasized the importance of the victory of freedom over tyranny for the future children.

None of us would like to – it doesn't matter whether in America, Ukraine or anywhere in Europe, anywhere in the world – no one voluntarily chooses regimes like the Russian, Iranian or any other dictatorial, for his children. These regimes are always built on violence, always start wars and shed blood, always steal the future, destroy years, leave decades in ruins. That's why they should lose, he noted.

A number of Nobel laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, artists (such as Stevie Tyler and Sting) and athletes (Simone Biles) have also received this award.
