The incident occurred on the way to the hotel from the city of Mingora: the escort car was blown up by a mine.

It is noted that the diplomats were not injured. Pakistani media reports that a policeman was killed and three others were injured.

The publication recalls that at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Pakistani authorities stated that Russia and Ukraine should resolve their mutual differences through “peaceful dialogue”. In 2023, Pakistan ordered Russian oil at a discount for the first time under a new agreement concluded between Islamabad and Moscow.
