Popular Ukrainian band Okean Elzy, which recently premiered the track “Mukachevo”, presented the new album “That Day”. This is the band's first album in eight years.
On Friday, September 20, the band Okean Elsa presented a new album – “That Day”. This is the band's tenth studio album, which includes 12 new compositions.
Not a single single released by the band in recent years was included in the album, every track is new. All tracks were written in different periods: some recently, and some 3-4 years ago.
This album is associated with awakening for me. Welcome back after a long search. It is not for nothing that the album is in many ways similar to the early work of the band – it is light, inspiring and authentic, – says the leader of the band Svyatoslav Vakarchuk.
The album includes:

- “Shile”;
- “2000 miles”;
- “Color Towers”;
- “Dichotomy”;
- “The night will dissolve bridges”;
- “High towers”;
- “Without insults”;
- “Like never before”;
- ” Mom”!;
- “Fire”;
- “Song of Songs”.
The album cover features a stylized cherry blossom , which, according to the band members, symbolizes the awakening of life, annual rebirth.

And some of the songs that were at the beginning are now not included in it. However, this is for the better, because every song that did not make it to the album found its time to be released. For example, “Flowers of Mine Zones” was needed in 2022 and became a single then, – says Vakarchuk.
The band's previous album was released eight years ago. Such a pause is due to the coronavirus pandemic and a full-scale invasion. It was planned that the tenth album will be released in April 2022.
Okean Elsa celebrates its 30th anniversary this October. However, the release of the new album is not related to this date. Svyatoslav notes that the album does not have a single theme that would connect the songs together.
It is a bit of a pity that the album is released in such an incredibly rich period of our lives. Here are the preparations for four big concerts for the 30th anniversary of OE, and special duet singles, and the release of our first English-language album, which has already been announced for October 11. But life is our every day, so everything is on time, Vakarchuk added.
