R&B and alternative: new mini-album Schmalgauzen "Tired Street"

Schmalgauzen/Informant

Theatrical and musical group Schmzlgauzen has released a new mini-album (EP) “Tired Street”. It includes three tracks: “Gods”, “Bridget” and “Tired Street”.

The new tracks are already available on all music platforms.

Unlike the previous one album with Latin motifs, here the band used more R&B style, alternative and recitative.

All tracks were created for the new play “Mattia Pascal. Opera of Shades” . This is a play about Milanese cabaret singer Mattia Pascal and his accompanist pianist friend Franz. According to the plot, they are looking for a stage story for this evening and trying to figure out whether their reality is real or a fiction of the author of this story.

In our debut play “Your Will” there was a romanticization of images. wine, sea, women. Instead, “Opera of Shades” is more concrete and tragic. But tragedy has a diverse palette of shades of feelings, so someone can see comedy in it, – says the band's soloist Mykhailo Matyuhin.

Theatrical and musical group Schmalgauzen was created in 2020 at the alma mater – the university Karpenka-Karyo. The team has already presented the programs “Your Will” (based on the works of August Strindberg and Thomas Mann), Avgusto&Gustav (based on the works of Robert Walzer) and Silence to Silence (based on the works of Samuel Beckett).
