A US diplomatic facility in Baghdad was attacked on Tuesday, September 10; there were no reports of casualties. The extent of the damage is currently being assessed, the US embassy said in a statement released on Wednesday, September 11.
Security sources told Reuters that two rockets landed at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, near US forces at Camp Victory near Baghdad International Airport.
“At approximately 11 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, an attack was carried out on the Foreign Services Complex in Baghdad, a US diplomatic facility,” the US Embassy said in a statement. “Thankfully, no casualties have been reported and we are assessing the damage and its causes.”

In a statement released Wednesday morning, the group called on Iraqi security forces to investigate the attack and identify those responsible.
Pezeshkian, who is making his first foreign trip as president, is expected to sign a series of bilateral agreements with Baghdad and discuss the war in Gaza and the wider Middle East with Iraqi leaders.
The agency notes that 2,500 American troops are stationed in Iraq. At the same time, armed groups supported by Iran and linked to Iranian intelligence services operate in the country.
Iraqi armed groups supported by Tehran have repeatedly attacked American troops in the Middle East since the start of the war in Gaza.
