#14 Léodagan

We often forget, but at the beginning of the series,Léodagan, Arthur's father-in-law, was “THE” villain around the Round Table. He was a traitor and a conspirator. During the first two seasons, he never hesitated to send the king into traps or wished for his premature disappearance. During season 2, he is even involved in an assassination attempt on the king, which lands him in prison. Although he grows closer to Arthur over time, he does not hesitate to dream of taking the throne for himself, as seen in the fifth season. Even if there is now little chance of seeing him become the big baddie of the upcoming diptych, it is obvious that his thirst for power and wealth still makes him dangerous.

#13 The Fairy Morgane

Traditionally, the fairy Morgane is the one who takes Arthur to Avalon after his death. However, in Kaamelott,She is much more present than in the legend and appears to Arthur well before the fateful hour. To be honest, she even seems particularly impatient to accomplish this task, and even threatens the king in the fourth season. Mysterious and elusive, we do not yet know why she wants the king so much. But with her supernatural presence and her menacing aura, she remains a potentially devastating figure for Arthur. As for her interpreter Léa Drucker, she has since had the opportunity to play other equally disturbing characters in Lée Bureau des Légendes and Incroyable mais vrai alongside Alain Chabat.

#12 Elias de Keliwic’h

Elias' alliance with Leodagan and Lady Seli in Kaamelott: First Part surprised many fans. This mage, who likes to challenge Merlin and seems motivated by money, was until now rather linked to the dark side of the story. Moreover, in the extended universe of Kaamelott that we discovered in the comics and the exhibition Kaamelott Resistance, Elias is always represented as an evil character, accompanied by a gigantic vulture or teaming up with Lancelot after Arthur's disappearance at the end of season 6.

#11 Mevanwi

In the Kaamelott comics, mages and sorcerers are recurring enemies of the Knights of the Round Table. Some, like the necromancer in the first volume, awaken armies of the dead, adding a supernatural dimension to the world of Kaamelott. In the series and the film, for the moment, this aspect is mainly represented by Karadoc's ex-wife, the dangerous Mevanwi. If her role in the first film was still relatively limited, we know thanks to the audio commentary by Alexandre Astier that the character and his assistant, “the jailer of Kaamelott”, will be backto play tricks. So, although magic is largely absent from the kingdom of Logres At this point in the story, she could finally become a growing and serious threat.

#10 The Clan Chiefs

Warlike and never satisfied, the clan chiefs are regular adversaries of Arthur. Although discreet in appearance, they form a group of enemies whose recurring threat often pushes Arthur to his limits. This is one of the rare groups of enemies that can push the king to use violence. However, we suspect that after ten years of political chaos, the clan leaders will represent a real problem for Arthur, the unifier of Brittany.

#9 The Invaders

The Vikings, the Huns and of course the infamous Burgundians and their legendary king have all caused Arthur trouble in the past. The Burgundians are even among the few to have directly attacked Kaamelott, and Arthur has had to negotiate with these different armies more than onceto save Kaamelott and all of Brittany. Even in the comics, these invaders are significant dangers, and in volume 7 Carmélide's Counterattack, it is only thanks to the union of all the lords of Brittany that the most dangerous army of invaders can be repelled

#8 The Saxons

After remaining a perpetually off-screen threat in Kaamelott, the Saxons finally appeared in Kaamelott: First Part.Their leader Horsa, played by Sting, proves to be more cunning and strategic than the other invaders in the series. They manage to infiltrate the upper echelons of the kingdom, and even become indispensable to Lancelot by becoming his armed wing. Even better, when Arthur returns, Horsa has managed to negotiate with enough skill to become a new knight of the Round Table. This cunning people, led by a clever strategist, is a real danger for Kaamelott, especially since Alexandre Astier announced that we had not yet seen everything and that a Saxon lord more dangerous and more important than Horsa was also going to make an appearance.

#7 Magical Creatures

The world of Kaamelott is populated by dragons, fairies, unicorns, goblins and other adult rabbits. If these creatures are mostly invisible on screen because of the limited budget of the series, their presence could become more significant. In the comics, the bestiary is also enormously expanded with monsters such as the snake of the Lake of Shadow or even an army of zombies and dragons. After the success of the first film, it is not impossible that Alexandre Astier finally has a budget comfortable enough to make some of these creatures appear.

#6 King Lothh

Under his airs of a sovereign as arrogant as he is incapable, King Lothh is in reality a powerful and dangerous opponent for Arthur. He dreams of overthrowing the king and finally occupying the throne of Brittany. His family ties with Arthur (he is his brother-in-law) often place him in key moments of the series, and his support for Lancelot shows how much he is ready to do anything to achieve his ends. On the other hand, even if for the moment this track has not yet really been addressed, he is connected to magic. He has dangerous powers, so does his son, and his wife Anna also seems dangerously immersed in the dark side of the force.

#5 Lancelot

Lancelot is Arthur's ultimate rival. Since the beginning of the series, he has been presented as the distorting mirror of the king. This dark reflection of Arthur shares many things in common with him, including a troubled family past and early sponsorship by the Lady of the Lake. His quest for independence and rejection of the gods led him to violently oppose Arthur, but also to hasten his downfall in Kaamelott: First Part. Routed at the end of the first film, he was finally revealed in a final shot to be in reality allied with the world of the dead.On the other hand, Alexandre Astier explained that the character was in full mutation and that his physical and mental transformation had to continue in Kaamelott: Second Part.

#4 Méléagant

This mysterious and supernatural character is probably one of the most disturbing figures in the Kaamelott saga. A manipulator, he drove Lancelot to madness and influenced Arthur to the point of suicide. His true nature remains ambiguous, but in legend  he is often associated with the Kingdom of the Dead, of which his father is said to be the sovereign. The extent of his powers andhis return in the post-credits scene of Kaamelott: First Part, make him a potentially destructive antagonist for the future of the kingdom.

#3 Anna

Arthur's sister and wife of King Loth harbors a fierce hatred for her brother. In Arthurian legend, she is responsible for many acts of betrayal, including the imprisonment of Merlin, but also the death of many knights of the Round Table whom she throws into different traps or that it sets them against each other. She is also the cause of the birth of Mordred, the fruit of an incestuous relationship with Arthur, a son who, in legend, is destined to kill his own father. On the other hand, even if it is not perfectly explicit in the series, she seems to wield black magic and possess a kind of gift of ubiquity, which allows her to visit her dying brother during theseason 6.Kaamelott Second Part: 14 opponents Arthur could face in the sequel

#2 Mordred

Although he has not yet appeared in Kaamelott, Mordred is a key character in the Arthurian legend. The incestuous son of Arthur and Anna, he is the one who will end up killing the king in many versions of the myth. Alexandre Astier has already mentioned the idea of introducing Mordred into the saga, making him a major threat for the end of the trilogy. Thus during an interview conducted for Allociné in 2009 he had thus launched:

It's not a part of the legend that I've left behind, this incestuous son who could… There are things in the Arthurian legends that I took, others that I did not take.

#1 Arthur Himself

This is clearly the number one problem with this version of the quest for the Grail. Alexandre Astier's “Arthur” is eaten away by a thousand and one very human flaws that regularly interfere with his sacred quest. Fickle, angry, melancholic and somewhat depressed, King Arthur has failed in his adventures more than once through his own fault. He is so aware of his flaws that in the episode, Arthur's Conscience (season 2), we discover that the king has the ability to make a double of himself appear to reprimand himself when he goes too far and needs to be put back on the right path.
