Having picked up the phone, the suspect changed the password for entering Internet banking. He transferred money from the soldier's account to the cards of his friends.
The cardholders did not know that a crime was being committed using their accounts. The suspect explained to them that he needed to use their accounts to get his salary.
Also, according to the prosecutor's office, the man topped up his mobile phone with the victim's card and paid at the gas station with it. In total, the attacker withdrew almost 80 thousand hryvnias from the soldier's account.
The Kyiv resident was reported as suspected under several articles of the Criminal Code – for theft, unauthorized interference with the work of online banking, and forgery of transfer documents and their use.
