New Google Pixel 10 Pro smartphone concept shows a new approach to camera placement

Recently, there have been some interesting rumors and announcements that could significantly change the design and functionality of future smartphones. One of the key points was information about potential changes in the design of camera modules from two companies: Apple and Google.

What else is known about the Pixel 10 Pro

Rumors that Apple might switch to a camera module with a horizontal strip, similar to those used in the Google Pixel series, turned out to be premature. According to the latest insider information, the module in the iPhone 17 Pro will most likely remain the same, without significant changes in design. At the same time, Google is preparing to release its new series of smartphones, the Google Pixel 10 Pro, which promises to bring significant changes in design and functionality. A conceptual version of the Google Pixel 10 Pro, presented by foreign designer 4RMD, shows several key improvements.

The rear camera in the new Google Pixel 10 Pro is located vertically in the center of the back of the phone, which is different from the horizontal arrangement in previous models. This new vertical orientation of the camera module makes it less convex compared to the Pixel 9 Pro. The phone will be available in four color options: black, silver, pink and blue.

In terms of specifications, the smartphone is likely to be equipped with a Tensor G5 chipset manufactured on TSMC's 3nm process. This is Google's first processor to be completely independently developed, which should provide a significant increase in performance and energy efficiency. The Google Pixel 10 series is expected to follow the same release schedule as the Pixel 9 series. This means that the new phone will be officially released and available for purchase in August 2025. However, as before, this smartphone is likely not to be sold in some countries.
