Anna Komorowska, as the first lady, did not shy away from interviews. In the one given in 2014 for RMF FM radio, she told us about the preparations for the holidays at the Presidential Palace. The wife of President Bronisław Komorowski admitted that she practically did not have to worry about anything, because she only supervises the entire preparation process.

“Since we have been living in Belweder, I have not prepared the holidays myself. To a minimal extent, but I do participate in what will be in the preparations, precisely the conceptual ones. However, the duties that I have in connection with the function of my husband exclude me to a large extent from the preparations, so to speak, in the kitchen,” Komorowska said at the time.

Komorowska also assured that although they celebrated with their loved ones at the Presidential Palace, they tried to maintain all the traditions that they celebrated at home.

Komorowskis' Christmas Traditions

Óthe early first lady revealed that among the traditions cultivated by her family is putting hay under the tablecloth. As she admitted in the aforementioned interview, they not only enjoyed the smell of hay wafting through the house, but also told fortunes by taking out the blades of hay from under the tablecloth.

Anna Komorowska added that they always started Christmas Eve supper with a prayer, sharing the Christmas wafer and making wishes. She also did not hide the fact that she approached the 12 dishes served quite creatively.

The wife of President Bronisław Komorowski revealed that although they spend Christmas Eve with their close family, on the second day of Christmas or the first Saturday after Christmas they invite family and friends to their place to sing Christmas carols together. This event involves 40 to even 80 people.
